Additional Suggestions:
• You should always operate the concentrator in a well-ventilated area. Ventilators need to have fresh, clean air to operate properly.
• If you place them in a closet or small room, or Motor Home please remember to keep a windows cracked open.
• Most concentrators require that you wash your filters Monthly and replace them yearly.
• Your concentrator should have its filters and purity levels of the concentrator examined according to the manufactures guide lines . This can be done by your oxygen provider.
When you purchase your concentrator try to get one with an oxygen-sensor device. This will help you monitors the purity level of oxygen being produced by your concentrator . If the purity level falls it will warn you . If your machine has this warming device, you will see a lights on the face of your concentrator and you will get a warning sound. If your concentrator does not have a Oxygen sensor built in it is Very important to have your concentrator tested for its oxygen purity every three months.
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
NO SMOKING OR OPEN FLAMES AROUND EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES.
NO SMOKING OR OPEN FLAMES AROUND PATIENT.
KEEP CONCENTRATOR AWAY FROM HEAT REGISTERS, SPACE HEATERS ETC.
KEEP ENOUGH ROOM AROUND CONCENTRATOR TO ALLOW GOOD AIRFLOW IN AND OUT.
DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON OR OVER THE TOP OF CONCENTRATOR
WATCH TUBING TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TRIP OR GET TANGLED UP
DO NOT USE OIL BASED LUBRICANTS i.e. PETROLEUM JELLY OR VASELINE ON UNIT.
STEP 1
Make sure the conserver is set to the OFF position.
Connect the conserving device to the top of the cylinder by inserting the cylinder alignment pins into the corresponding holes on the cylinder valve.
STEP 2
Secure the conserver onto the cylinder by turning the cylinder adjustment knob clockwise.
NOT: Tighten by hand only, as using a tool will damage the conserver.
Nebulizer Cleaning And TroubleShooting
Cleaning Instructions (after every use)
1. Disconnect tubing from bottom off nebulizer cup.
2. Open nebulizer cup by turning cap counterclockwise and remove inner baffle.
3. Wash all items, except tubing, in hot water/dishwashing detergent solution.
4. Rinse under hot water for 30 seconds to remove dishwashing residue.
5. Allow to air dry.
Disinfecting Instructions should be one once a week.
1. Using a clean bowl, soak items in three parts hot water to one part white vinegar.
2. Soak for 30 minutes.
3. Remove items from bowl and rinse thoroughly under warm water.
4. Air dry on paper towel and store in a zip lock bag.
Trouble shooting your nebulizer.
1. If nebulizer doesn't turn on?
a. Make sure cord in plugged in and secure in wall outlet.
b. make sure wall outlet, if controlled by switch, is turn on.
2. If no mist is being produced from cup
a. Make sure inner baffle is in place.
b. Make sure tubing is securely connected to cup and to the machine.
c. Make sure y ou have added your medicine to the cup.
d. Disconnect tubing from machine and feel for air pressure, if you feel
good air flow try cleaning cup again or open up a new nebulizer cup.
Life-span of your nebulizer cup
1. Disposable cups will work for months but you are allowed 2 per month
2. non-disposable cups will work for a year but you are allowed 1 per 6 months.
Supplies and maintenance
CPAP MACHINE-There is no scheduled maintenance to keep for the machine itself, other than dusting.
INLET FILTER- Check filter weekly, depending-on the amount of dust, shite pollen filter brush dust off with fingers. Foam filter(if applicable) rinse off under water, squeeze dry, replace in machine.
HOSE- Wash hose in soap and water, rinsing well and hang to dry.
CPAP MASK/PILLOWS- Wipe mask daily with damp cloth to remove any oily residue, wash with soap and water weekly. You can extend the life of your mask with more frequent cleanings.
HEADGEAR- hand wash your chin strap with soap and water, squeeze out excess water and let air-dry. A 10% solution of white vinegar and water ( 1 part vinegar to 9 parts water) can be substituted instead of soap and water to clean all your supplies if necessary.
*Mask replacement - Allowed 1 mask every 3 months
*Pillow replacement - Allowed 2 pair every month
*Headgear replacement - Allowed 1 every 6 months
*Chin strap - Allowed 1 every 6 months
*Tubing - Allowed 1 every 3 months
